So what sort of guarantee can an agency give you? There is a sense in which they cannot be expected to provide a guaranteed aupair bond to underwrite any possible misdemeanour from and aupair - but they can be expected to have carried out a level of due diligence. They should have checked all the aupairs documents to see that names, dates and places all match up. With less reliable aupairs it is common that they won't and transparent deception at this early stage is often a dire warning to stop at this stage and not to proceed further.
